Everyone in DUFC would like to congratulate Jamie Heaslip on an outstanding rugby career and we wish him the best of luck with retirement.
After playing for Naas RFC, Newbridge College and Trinity, Jamie went on to have a stellar career with Leinster and Ireland. He played 229 times for his province, scoring an impressive 38 tries. He won 95 Irish caps, scoring 13 tries. With Leinster, he won a Challenge Cup, three Pro 12s and three Heineken Cups. He won three 6 Nations championships with Ireland. This included the famous 2009 Grand Slam and his tries against France and Scotland will never be forgotten by Irish fans. Jamie toured twice with the British and Irish Lions, in 2009 and 2013, earning five test caps making him a test centurion.
Jamie was a great player for Trinity and has stayed in touch since he moved into the professional ranks. He maintained in an Instagram post that College Park will always be his favourite place to play. He has presented Colours jerseys and he often interacts with the club on social media. Thanks for everything Jamie!
