U20s do double over UCD !

Shannon 12pts – Trinity 38pts.

Trinity travelled to Limerick to play mighty Shannon in the All Ireland U20s Quarter Final.

Shannon started well and got a very early try when they broke through some iffy Trinity defence. Trinity struggled in difficult showery conditions on a wet sticky pitch. They made many errors and struggled to maintain possession.

Just before half time they managed to keep the ball and score out wide through out half Michael O’Kennedy, after hooker Dan Sheehan had broke the defence with a charging run. O’Kennedy kicked the conversion to put his team level 7-7 at half time.

In the second half the sun came out and Trinity began to play their natural game, and they scored early in the second half after *8 Patrick Nulty had made a 60 metre break. American wing Liam Smith scoring his first of two tries for the Visitors.

Trinity seemed to score if and when they could maintain possession. But the win was in the bag with 20 minutes to go.

Trinity now face Lansdowne in the semi final next weekend. All Leinster teams beat their Munster counterparts for the second year running. Clontarf and UCD play in the other semi final.
