Lansdowne 22pts Trinity 59pts 22nd November 2015

With the Trinity Senior 1st XV on its second week of rest, it was time for Trinity’s other teams to step up to the limelight.

The highlight was probably the U20s Premier win on the back pitch in Lansdowne Road V Lansdowne U20s. Over the past few years some very good Trinity U20s XVs have been well beaten on the plastic pitch. But yesterday Trinity turned the tables in what would be unfamiliar conditions for them with an emphatic 59-22 win over the home team. The first half was almost surreal as the Students ran up a 40- 5 lead against a quality home team with many Leinster underage players. It has to be said Trinity seemed to get every bounce of the ball, as the backs ran amok supported by a hungry forward pack to score some highlight reel tries!

Lansdowne did get a last minute consolation bonus point off an interception, but the students played some truly magical rugby to take the 5 points to move into second place, two points behind UCD who drew with Clontarf 20-20.
